the new monitors look great and overall I am happy with my decision to buy them. still getting the proper position and angle nailed down; first time ever having two displays that match, so it kinda feels like i have to shift over, rather than turn my head, if the position isn’t just right. still, very nice… it is taking a bit of getting used to though.

on the negative side, cell service has been degraded in my area for the past week or so. now that i finally have a workaround figured out, the signal seems to have improved. needless to say, no internet was quite a bottleneck in my productivity. that is kinda how i wound up fully committing to learning a new software program.

decided to go with 3d models for background as opposed to the texture approach i was previously using. in order to generate them proceadurally i have begun learning Houdini. very impressed with the software and workflow change in general and have found a free introductory course on Udemy which seems to be exactly what I need to begin.

the first world’s terrain is actually made already, but i am taking my time to learn the software properly and considering it a proper college level class. meaning i will give it around the same amount of time and effort output as i did for a major college in course.
